18 months later, I am nonetheless utilizing the Galaxy S22 Extremely as my each day cellphone

Don’t inform anybody on the workplace, however regardless of accessing the newest and best telephones, I’m nonetheless rocking 2022’s Samsung Galaxy S22 Extremely as my each day driver. Merely put, Samsung’s ultra-premium system produced a superb all-rounder right here. Loads of newer flagships have their deserves, after all, however this handset continues to do all the things actually, rather well. So why swap?

I evaluation telephones for a dwelling, and, after all, I’ll take the vast majority of my apps and accounts over to a evaluation unit to make sure I give it a good shake as my major cellphone. Nonetheless, transferring over each little service and extra finicky safe apps, reminiscent of these for banking, is a headache. Name me lazy, nevertheless it takes one thing further particular to persuade me to make the bounce long-term. In any other case, I’d most likely be altering telephones each few months, which might be a mistake given I’m nonetheless tremendous pleased rocking the mighty S22 Extremely (Exynos model, for that matter).

And why wouldn’t I be? Samsung’s 2022 flagship system does a lot proper. The Exynos 2200’s efficiency, whereas not chart-topping, flies by all the things I would like on the day-to-day. It most likely helps that I’m not a gamer, however different elements of the world have the Snapdragon variant that boasts even higher efficiency. In the meantime, the spectacular battery life nonetheless takes me by greater than a full day, even with out a full cost. I usually attain to unplug the cellphone at round 70% as a consequence of its not fairly so quick charging. The cellphone wasn’t flawless in its execution, and Samsung remedied most of those minor complaints with its successor, however the core expertise stays stable.

Throw in loads of display actual property and the admittedly seldom-used S Pen luxurious for marking off my buying lists, and I’m all set. However maybe most significantly, previously 18 months, I’ve loved an replace to OneUI 5.0 and have simply obtained the OneUI 6 improve to maintain the cellphone recent and thrilling. Samsung kickstarted its spectacular 4 OS and 5 years of safety patches pledge with the S22 sequence, and it’s reassuring to know there’s a minimum of one other three years of life on this cellphone. It doesn’t really feel like I’m lacking out, despite the fact that the {hardware} isn’t model new.

This isn’t to say I haven’t been tempted. My interior images buff has nearly satisfied me to leap ship to an much more succesful various. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Extremely can be a modest improve right here, and I’ve been much more impressed by my time with the Google Pixel 8 Professional and the OPPO Discover X6 Professional. However whereas I’m nicely conscious of the business’s numerous images enhancements, they don’t seem to be so giant as to compel me to change simply but, even when I’ve another fairly actually on my desk. The Galaxy S22 Extremely’s digital camera high quality hasn’t gotten worse, in spite of everything, and it nonetheless takes great-looking snaps more often than not.

And I believe that consistency is what I’ve come to like concerning the cellphone. Different handsets could edge it on an occasional particular — be it photograph colours, quicker charging, or a distinct segment software program characteristic — however the Galaxy S22 Extremely performs constantly nicely throughout each class. It doesn’t matter what you want out of your cellphone, it continues to deal with it.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Extremely continues to be an excellent cellphone value your cash all these months later, particularly when you can choose it up cheaply. We’ve seen an OK Black Friday low cost on the 256GB mannequin to $982, however that’s not precisely a steal. Fortunately, the revamped Galaxy S23 Extremely might be discovered for as little as $899 in Black Friday gross sales. Whereas I really like the S22 Extremely, I like to recommend choosing up the S23 Extremely at this worth, particularly because it comes with a extra highly effective processor, quicker charging, and an improved digital camera setup.
