There are a ton of fantastic house safety cameras obtainable, together with good ones which have Alexa onboard. Whether or not you want good surveillance indoors or outside, there’s one thing on the market for each house and each finances.
Many good cameras are in a position to swivel in place, rotate, and transfer up and down. Not lots of them can truly transfer freely like a robotic vacuum, although. Enabot is a model that fills this distinctive area of interest, providing customers good cameras with wheels built-in and a companion app to manage these units.
To this point, Enabot’s good house robots, just like the EBO Air and EBO SE, have been affordably priced units that may greatest be described as good house safety cameras on wheels. This 12 months, nonetheless, Enabot took issues to the subsequent degree by unveiling the super-smart EBO X, which the model is asking a wise guardian robotic to your house.
There is a clear distinction between the previous-gen EBO robots and the flamboyant new EBO X. The EBO Air and EBO SE had been nearly like toys compared to the EBO X. Enabot even marketed them as such, recommending them as ultimate playmates for pets and kids.
With the EBO X, you get a a lot bigger robotic on wheels with high-grade specs. The guardian robotic has Harman Kardon audio system, an 8MP 4K UHD digicam with evening imaginative and prescient and a stabilized gimbal, Alexa built-in, a charging dock, a microSD card slot, and Visible simultaneous localization and mapping (V-SLAM) know-how.
You’ll be able to map your complete house and create duties for the EBO X guardian robotic to do, resembling surveilling your own home autonomously at specified hours. The good robotic has fall detection, can determine human beings, and likewise acknowledges the cries of a kid. You’ll be able to arrange push notifications when it detects {that a} child is crying or somebody has fallen. The V-SLAM know-how is not excellent, although, and typically the robotic will get caught on uneven surfaces.
Having Alexa onboard makes an already wonderful product that significantly better. You do not even must say “Alexa” to set off these prompts, enabling you to easily begin your voice command by saying “EBO EBO” adopted by a appropriate order. You’ll be able to ask Enabot’s EBO X to comply with you or to return to the charging station, inform it to extend or lower the amount, and a lot extra.
These capabilities have labored completely in my testing. It is like having one of many greatest Alexa-enabled good audio system comply with you round the home as you do your day by day duties. I am unable to depend the variety of occasions I requested the EBO X robotic to start out the timer for one thing I used to be cooking within the kitchen or checked up on the climate. Because it makes use of Alexa, you possibly can management your complete ecosystem of Alexa units from this transferring robotic. There’s nearly nothing like this in existence, making you’re feeling such as you’re dwelling sooner or later.
And the enjoyable does not cease there. You’ll be able to create off-limit zones inside your good map and arrange alerts if anybody goes there. When the robotic is low on cost, it robotically finds its method again to the charging station like a robotic vacuum.
The digicam has facial recognition and likewise distinguishes pets from people. In case you set it up, customers can use the robotic to name choose individuals immediately. The robotic may also be used to go away voice messages and to provide relations reminders to take their medicines. By means of the app, customers can share entry to the household’s EBO X robotic so a number of individuals can test on whoever is at house.
The 4K UHD digicam is extraordinarily crisp and clear, even in low gentle, thanks to nighttime imaginative and prescient. For security functions, all the photographs and movies recorded are saved to the microSD card contained in the robotic. And in case you’re involved about your privateness, Enabot considered that as nicely. You’ll be able to merely pop the digicam gimbal contained in the physique of the EBO X guardian robotic like a privateness shutter. There’s additionally a button to manually disable the mic.
The whole lot could be managed through the companion app. I checked on my cats from tons of of miles away, and the image high quality was unbelievable. You need to use it to test on human companions as nicely, making it ultimate for aged mother and father or younger youngsters. The Harman Kardon speaker onboard will get good and loud, plus you additionally get a mic for two-way communication.
Navigating the app is fairly easy and simple to make use of, because of its gamified UI. You’ll be able to even replace the robotic’s firmware from the app remotely, which is one thing I attempted out, and it labored seamlessly. The Enabot EBO X is a spectacular machine.

If you have not used the earlier Enabot robots, you will not really feel like something is lacking. Nevertheless, returning customers can be saddened by the dearth of the lovable voice that earlier EBO robots used to have. Including to that, they may in all probability miss the tips that the last-gen fashions may carry out as nicely.
I do know I immensely missed the laser pointer and figure-eight dance, which are not current on the EBO X. It took away from the enjoyable side of the robotic. Positive, the machine is supposed to be a wise house safety digicam that strikes, however I see no cause why Enabot could not have left within the cute voice or tips within the newer EBO X robotic.
Nonetheless, the Enabot EBO X is unmatched in its worth. Options like steady wheel tracks, full Alexa integration, evening imaginative and prescient, and native storage are a tough mixture to search out in a single single product, that’s except you intend to spend $1600 on the Amazon Astro. The app has a lot going for it, with Enabot pushing out common updates. Even the large RGB eyes of the Enabot EBO X guardian robotic could be custom-made in-app.
Simply the truth that that is such a uncommon type of product makes it very priceless, however as a result of the options are so virtually helpful in actual life, it makes the robotic even higher. That mentioned, the value tag is fairly steep, sitting at just a little above $1,000. That is a big sum that makes anybody take a step again, however it’s nonetheless tons of of {dollars} cheaper than Amazon’s robotic.
Nevertheless, when you have somebody aged or younger at house, the robotic is a wonderful technique to inspect them and handle them remotely. You’ll be able to all the time buy an indoor safety digicam and an Alexa speaker individually at a fraction of the fee, however they will not give you the mobility of the EBO X robotic. It is a household machine that may simply turn out to be the middle of your good house and safety system. In case you can afford it, I imagine the Enabot EBO X is definitely worth the funding.
Intriguing Alexa robotic
Have Alexa follows you round within the type of this good house robotic. The Enabot EBO X has a wise digicam with evening imaginative and prescient, mapping know-how, and a great deal of good house automation onboard. Plus, Enabot fitted some highly effective Harman Kardon Bluetooth audio system on this factor, making it each helpful and enjoyable unexpectedly.
