The second ‘Halo’ season has a launch date and a teaser trailer

Grasp Chief, the Spartan hero from Halo, will proceed his live-action adventures with two episodes of its second season premiering worldwide on February eighth subsequent 12 months. Paramount Plus introduced the date, together with a teaser trailer, throughout CCXP in Brazil.

The teaser trailer doesn’t reveal a lot concerning the story, after all. However Paramount Plus says in its launch that the brand new season will see Schreiber’s Grasp Chief making an attempt to show that the Covenant (the alien antagonists from the present and the video games) are getting ready to assault Attain — the people’ army stronghold that fell previous to the story’s starting within the first Halo recreation.

Should you’ve performed that recreation, you understand the place this goes, and Paramount Plus hints at it within the launch. The Grasp Chief will go “on a journey to seek out the important thing to humankind’s salvation, or its extinction — Halo.” Should you’ve performed the video games, you understand… different issues about what occurs in between now and his arrival on the Halo ring. I received’t spoil something for anybody who was first launched to the collection by the TV present, however it will get grim.

The primary season was, visually, a minimum of, a usually devoted adaptation of the video games it’s based mostly on, and it had some respectable, gritty sci-fi future chops. I are inclined to agree with Ash Parrish’s evaluation for The Verge — Grasp Chief might stand to loosen up slightly, and the present’s total tone might use some tweaking. Halo’s CGI aliens look foolish, too (though I discovered that nostalgically charming). For individuals who haven’t seen it but, Paramount Plus made it free to observe on YouTube a few days in the past.

Along with Schreiber, Halo’s second season will see the return of Natascha McElhone as Dr. Halsey and Jen Taylor as Cortana. Bokeem Woodbine, Shabana Azmi, Natasha Culzac, Olive Grey, Yerin Ha, Bentley Kalu, Kate Kennedy, Charlie Murphy, and Danny Sapani will even return. Joseph Morgan and Cristina Rodlo will be a part of the collection as James Ackerson and Talia Perez.
